A Message from Our Partner on the Ground in Syria
The liberation of Syria marks a historic turning point. It offers hope for rebuilding a nation torn apart by years of conflict. However, this is only the first step. Challenges such as restoring security, rebuilding infrastructure, and fostering national unity require coordinated efforts.
While there is an urgent need for international support in governance, capacity building, and reconciliation efforts to ensure a stable and inclusive transition, the humanitarian situation has worsened more across Syria.
Millions of Syrians remain displaced, both internally and across borders. While many are eager to return home, the lack of infrastructure, housing, and basic services, as well as lingering security concerns, make this process slow and challenging. The needs for housing, education, and livelihoods will be a leverage point where Syrians across the globe will be more courageous to return, and it will surely help to ensure sustainable reintegration.
At the economic level, immediate economic recovery and reconstruction efforts are critical to provide hope and stability to the people, and there is an urgent need to advocate for early recovery programs, investment in rebuilding essential infrastructure, and support for small businesses to kickstart local economies.
