An aqiqah is the Islamic tradition of the sacrifice of an animal on the occasion of a child's birth.

The Aqiqah is a sunnah and not an obligation. However, it is highly encouraged that the Aqiqah be carried out by the parents of a newborn child on the seventh day after their birth.

It is narrated that the Prophet (pbuh) said, 'The boy is in pledge for his aqiqah which should be sacrificed on his behalf on the seventh day, and he should be named and his head shaved.' (Tirmidhi: 1522). Because of this hadith, the scholars of Islam stated that it is best to carry out the Aqiqah on the seventh day. However, if that is not possible, then carrying it out on the 14th or 21st is prefered to other days.
It is a sunnah to shave the baby's hair and give its weight equivalent in Silver as sadaqah (charity).
The sunnah is to sacrifice two goats for a boy and one goat for a girl. The current price of a goat is $190 but is subject to change based on market rates. When that occurs, we will update our prices and inform you.
In order to do your Aqiqah in a timely manner, we don't offer country options. Rather, we select a country based on need and the timeliness of carrying out your Aqiqah.
