Penny Appeal USA announces new scholarship for Nonprofit Leaders

Penny Appeal USA announced today a new scholarship for current leaders working in organizations established by American Muslims.

The scholarship covers the full tuition to participate in Georgetown University’s annual Summer Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program at the McCourt School of Public Policy.

Penny Appeal USA President & CEO, Oussama Mezoui said, “ We are very excited to announce this scholarship. The goal of the scholarship is to advance inclusion, build leadership capacity, and support the growth of American Muslim nonprofit organizations and institutions which do fantastic work all over the US.â€

Founded in 2002, the Certificate Program is designed to strengthen the leadership and management capacity of nonprofit practitioners. Designed as an experiential leadership lab, this program provides a stimulating and supportive climate for exploring the pressing issues that current and future nonprofit leaders face.

“The Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership is honored to partner with Penny Appeal USA to provide this scholarship,” said Associate Director, Dr. Luisa Boyarski. “As American Muslim philanthropy and nonprofits continue to grow, we want to ensure that the new leaders and organizations have the opportunity to build their capacity and collaborate with others in the sector.”
