Penny Appeal USA responding to Typhoon Rai

Alexandria, Virginia: Penny Appeal USA’s international emergency response team has mobilized to provide aid and relief to those affected by Super Typhoon Rai in the Philippines. Many cities across the country are experiencing power outages and blocked roads. The typhoon has also triggered landslides and flooding, damaging homes and hospitals. People are unable to return home and are seeking shelter.

With our ground partners, Penny Appeal USA will be distributing food, water, hygiene and sanitation items, shelter, and more relief essentials. Penny Appeal USA will also be providing water filtration supplies to support clean and sanitary water supply.

“With any humanitarian disaster of this scale, time is of the essence,” said John Robbins, CEO of Penny Appeal USA. “We’re working with community leaders, donors, and local partners to ensure access to food, potable water, and shelter, and will continue to provide support as the crisis evolves.”

Since 2016, Penny Appeal USA has responded to emergencies across the globe to provide immediate aid to those affected by disasters, whether natural or man-made. Funding from the American public has made responding to these emergencies, here at home and abroad, possible.
